Simplified configuration

The simplified configuration has a list of protocols provided and allows you to configure them individually, for each of the network cards installed on the system: Simplified configuration-image_0To activate the firewall on a network card, select the “Firewall active for this network card” option. When the firewall is activated for a network card, all protocols are blocked: Simplified configuration-image_0By clicking on the protocols individually, you can unlock the communication and customize the packet filtering algorithms: Simplified configuration-image_0Filter configuration:From IP: allows you to select from which IP address to allow access. You can specify more than one IP address, separated by commas. The reserved word “any” means “any address”.Limit traffic: allows you to filter packets according to the following rules:Buffer size: packet receiving buffer size. It is a container that is filled when packets are received and is emptied as packets are consumed by the application. All packets received at full buffer are discarded.Rate value: indicates the speed with which the packets must be removed from the buffer and passed to the application. Syntax: VALUE/TIME, with VALUE numeric value and TIME unit of time. Valid times are: s (second), m (minute), h (hour), d (day). In the example, buffer 10 and rate 5/s indicate a 10 packet buffer, from which 5 packets per second are taken. Please note: the simplified configuration allows you to “unlock” some of the protocols commonly used within Gefran systems. All other protocols (and ports) not present in the list are always automatically blocked (if firewall is enabled on the network card).
