Supported printers
The system supports some HP, Epson, Canon, Lexmark local printers and any remote printer by the “Gefran Printer Server”.The PrinterSelect widgets lists more than 200 models, to choose from.Currently, due to new models high release frequency, it’s not possible to keep it up-to-date regularly.Perhaps it’s possible to print even if the printer is not listed, choosing a compatible model.The main protocols are supported: pcl-XXX (e.g.: pcl2, plc3, etc.), esc/p2, bjc. Please make sure the printer supports one of them.Note: very cheap printers, which typically use “host-based” protocols, will probably not work as the protocol is often closed and controlled by the PC driver even for the low level printer control (this takes place at printer level with standard protocols, as, for example, PCL6).The next table, as example, lists some compatible printers. The second column contains the used protocol and the third column the printer name to select inside the “PrinterSelect” widget.
