Service Settings

Applicability:
– BSP ver. 1.0.0 or higher
Description: the system service configuration function is available by pressing “Service Settings” in the list of buttons on the edge of the screen in the “Menu” area.
By clicking the “Open Menu” button, the “Menu” area can be displayed/hidden.
G-Mation P6 supports the following list of services:
-) “Autorun scripts from external storage“: this service allows the G-Mation P6 to automatically execute scripts stored on external storage media connected to the device itself; the service can be enabled/disabled through the “Service Settings” panel of GSetup;
-) “Avahi Deamon“: this service enables the implementation of a DNS Service Discovery and Multicast DNS specification useful for communications network management (Zeroconf Networking); the service can be enabled/disabled through the “Service Settings” panel of GSetup;
-) “Bridge Configuration“: this service allows several network interfaces that would otherwise be isolated from each other to be connected through a “Bridge”; the service can be enabled/disabled through the “Service Settings” panel of GSetup;
-) “DHCP Server“: this service enables the DHCP protocol on each of the Ethernet ports on board the G-Mation P6; the service can be enabled/disabled through the “Service Settings” panel of GSetup;
-) “Firewall Service“: this service allows configuring rules for managing or blocking traffic from specific communication network interfaces due to the built-in firewall within the G-Mation P6; the service can be activated/deactivated through the “Service Settings” panel of the GSetup;
-) “FTP Service“: this service allows the G-Mation P6 to accept incoming connections and communicate with a client through the FTP protocol; the service can be enabled/disabled through the “Service Settings” panel of GSetup;
-) “NAT – Port Forwarding“: this service enables and configures rounting techniques between the interfaces of the G-Mation P6; the service can be enabled/disabled through the “Service Settings” panel of GSetup;
-) “Router”: this service allows you to configure the Router built into the G-Mation P6 to define specific routing rules for network traffic; the service can be configured through the “Service Settings” panel of GSetup;
-) “MQTT Server“: this service enables the MQTT server supported by G-Mation P6, managing the registration of users who can access the protocol; the service can be enabled/disabled through the “Service Settings” panel of GSetup;
-) “SSH Server“: this service enables the G-Mation P6 to accept incoming connections and communicate with a client through the SSH protocol; the service can be enabled/disabled through the “Service Settings” panel of GSetup;
-) “SSL Certificate“: this service allows managing the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate supported by G-Mation P6 in terms of secure communication; the service can be configured through the “Service Settings” panel of GSetup;
The “Service Settings” panel allows the operator to view the enable/disable status of the individual service through the “on/off” indicator; in addition, for each service there is a “configure” button that the operator can select to access the menu dedicated to the individual service.
